¶ About | The founder

Tired of being tired.

Kizmit is a small company with one conviction: that nobody should need an oracle to know their own rhythm. Here's where that conviction came from.

Why I built this

You are not too much. You are not too emotional. You are not failing at a schedule that was never built for you.

You're tired. Tired of being tired. Tired of pushing through, overriding, apologizing, of living on a clock set to someone else's body and being called dramatic for having one of your own. Tired of a world that treats a woman's rhythm as a malfunction to manage instead of information worth listening to. Your feelings aren't the problem. They're the truest data you have about your own life.

I built Kizmit because I was done. Done watching us run ourselves down, so disconnected from our own rhythms that we stopped noticing the cost. And there is a cost. We carry it in our exhaustion, our burnout, the autoimmune conditions we quietly live with, and the hundred small signals we were taught to ignore.

This is what I wanted and couldn't find: not another app telling you who to be, but a quiet place to get reacquainted with yourself. To see, in your own record, the rhythm that was there all along, and then to live by it, on purpose. To plan your hard days and your soft ones around how you actually work, instead of against yourself.

That's the whole point. Not the kind of optimizing that asks you to override yourself and push through, but the kind that works with you, all of you: your body, your mind, your energy, the whole of how you actually feel. To hand you back what the world quietly took: your rhythm, your knowledge of yourself, your sovereignty. I built it for myself. And for every woman who is done being told she's the problem, and ready to belong to herself again.

The idea

A mirror beats an oracle.

An oracle speaks first. It tells you what today is for, how you should expect to feel, what your type tends to do. Whether it's dressed in stars or in wellness-speak, the mechanism is the same: meaning arrives from outside, and you're invited to bend your day to fit it. Oracles are seductive because they're never empty. They always have something to say, especially on day one, especially before they know anything.

A mirror is slower and humbler. It has nothing to offer until you've stood in front of it. Kizmit is built as a mirror on purpose: for weeks it mostly listens, and what it eventually reflects is drawn from your entries and nobody else's. The patterns it surfaces are worded the way honest patterns should be (it seems, it may, you might notice) because a pattern in your data is a hypothesis about you, not a verdict on you.

The cost of this honesty is patience. The return is that when something does surface, it's actually yours.

What we won't build

Three things we wouldn't build.

No archetypes

No named types, seasons, or personas. An archetype prescribes before your data speaks; once you've been handed a label, you start noticing the evidence for it and discarding the rest. The label writes the diary. We'd rather the diary write itself.

No scores

Nothing on a primary screen grades you. No readiness number, no daily rating, no color that means you're doing it wrong. A score turns a day into a performance review, and people quietly start logging for the grade instead of the truth. The record only works if it's cheap to be honest.

No horoscope

The moon in Kizmit is an astronomical object, not an astrological one. We show its actual phase because it's a steady, shared clock in the sky, the same for everyone. What it means for you, if anything, is a question only your record can answer, and “nothing, apparently” is an answer we're comfortable delivering.

Begin

The record starts blank. That's the honest place to start.

Kizmit has nothing to say about you yet. Start the record, and in time it will have something true. Begin your journal whenever you're ready.
